Dr. Syed Irfanullah Hashmi

Dr. Syed Irfanullah Hashmi, PhD (Geology), from the National Centre of Excellence (NCEG) in Geology at the University of Peshawar, boasts over 13 years of extensive experience in Pakistan's Oil & Gas and Minerals sectors. Dr. Hashmi has served as a Senior Consultant Geologist for various national and international organizations, including Mari Energy, United Energy Pakistan (UEPL), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Oil & Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDCL), Orient Petroleum Limited, Frontier Works Organization (FWO), Mineral Development Organization (MEDO), MCC Pakistan, ZKB Pvt. Limited, and ACM Mineral Private Limited. Currently, Dr. Hashmi holds the position of Head of Exploration at GeoXpert Services Pvt. Limited, Pakistan. As a seasoned Senior Consultant Geologist, he has successfully led numerous mineral exploration projects, providing expert geological services. His expertise spans Minerals Exploration, Geological Mapping, Structure Geology, 3D Modelling, Project Management, geological research, analysis, and consulting services for the Oil & Gas and Minerals industries.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Arif

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Arif has been serving higher education through teaching and research for more than thirty-five years. He scored gold medals in his Bachelor and Master degrees in Geology and won the highly prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship through worldwide open competition for carrying out doctoral and post-doctoral studies in the renowned University of Leicester, England. The focus of his research work has been exploration and evaluation of gemstones, metallic mineral deposits and construction material. He executed several projects on ore deposit associated with collisional settings in northern Pakistan with major emphasis on the mineralization of PGEs, Cu- Au and Chromite deposits. Besides, he has the experience of carrying out geological investigation of sites for buildings, bridges, dams, and tunnels. For his outstanding research contribution during 2012, the Pakistan Academy of Sciences declared him the best researcher of the year in the field of Earth Sciences and awarded him gold medal.

Dr. Suleman Khan

Dr. Suleman Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan, with a PhD from the School of Geosciences at the University of Edinburgh (UK), earned through a prestigious HEC scholarship. His research expertise spans sedimentology, petroleum geology, sequence stratigraphy, biostratigraphy (foraminifera and calcareous nannofossils), palynostratigraphy, stable isotopes, organic geochemistry, and geotectonics. Dr. Khan has led numerous industry-funded consultancy projects for major oil and gas companies including PPL, MPCL, OGDCL, UEPL, and MOL, focusing on geological mapping, biostratigraphy, sedimentology, source rock geochemistry, and reservoir characterization across various sedimentary basins in Pakistan

Dr. Irfan Ullah Jan

Dr. Irfan U. Jan is a Professional Geoscientist [P.Geo.] at Alberta, Canada, with a PhD from the University of Leicester (UK) and is a Canadian National. He has upstream oil and gas industry experience. He was employed by the Geo-Services East (Pakistan and UAE) and has served as a Lecturer, Assistant and Associate Professor in academia since 2005. His core research focuses on petroleum geology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology of Permian–Triassic and Jurassic successions in Pakistan, with correlative studies across the Arabian and Indian plates. Dr. Jan has served as a Senior Consultant Geologist for national and multinational oil and gas companies (OGDCL, MOL, MPCL, PPL, Orient Petroleum) and cement industries (OMNI, FATIMA, SITARA) across Pakistan

Dr. Muhammad Sajid

Dr. Sajid is working as Assistant Professor of Applied Mineralogy at the University of Peshawar. He obtained the doctoral degree from the reputed Camborne School of Mines in the United Kingdom, which is followed by the honorary post- doctoral research at the GFZ Potsdam, Germany in the of field Applied Mineralogy and Geochemistry. He has been actively providing consultative services to the prospecting and exploration of late stage magmatic and hydrothermal mineral deposits of Pakistan which includes Li, Cu and Antimony systems in Chitral region, tungsten mineralization in Hazara domain and REEs mineralization in multiple KP districts. Dr. Sajid is a well-trained scientist on multiple analytical instrumentations used in mineral exploration including SIMS, LA ICP-MS, XRF, EPMA and SEM. His research is targeting the Himalayan mountain belt, its evolution and mineral reserves using geochemical approach. He presented his research work in multiple conferences across the world and published in reputed journals.

Dr. Mohibullah Kakar

Dr. Mohibullah Kakar is a distinguished geologist with a strong academic and professional background. He earned his PhD in Geology from the prestigious University of Leicester, UK, and currently holds the position of Head of the Department of Geology at the University of Balochistan, Quetta, Pakistan. With over 15 years of extensive fieldwork experience, primarily focused on Balochistan and the Pashin Basin, Dr. Kakar has developed deep expertise in the region's sedimentology, Biostratigraphy and tectonics. His research specialization includes the stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology of Balochistan, with particular emphasis on the Pashin Basin and Balochistan Basin. Dr. Kakar has supervised numerous PhD and MPhil/MS students, guiding them in advanced geological research. His fieldwork and studies have covered significant portions of Balochistan. A prolific researcher, Dr. Kakar has authored more than 30 research papers in reputed national and international journals, focusing on the Pashin and Balochistan Basins

Dr. Nowrad Ali

Dr. Nowrad Ali PhD in (Geology) from University of Potsdam Germany. Dr. Nowrad expertise lies in sedimentology, thermochronology, structural geology, basin analysis, and the regional tectonics of orogenic fold-thrust belts. I bring diverse experience in minerals and hydrocarbon exploration within the northwestern and western Himalayan fold-thrust belts. His research focused on detrital geochronology, thermochronology, and structural modeling of the Sulaiman fold-thrust belt. This work aims to enhance our understanding of the India-Asia interaction and the structural evolution of the western Himalayas.

Dr. Hafiz Shahid Hussain

Dr Hafiz Shahid Hussain is a geologist with eight years of hands-on consulting experience, with a particular focus on critical mineral exploration across Pakistan. His work spans copper, lead, and antimony prospects, combining careful field mapping with geochemical analysis and 3D subsurface modelling to turn raw geological data into decisions that clients can act on with confidence. He has a track record of taking projects from early-stage exploration through to production-ready outcomes, always grounding his interpretations in solid field evidence rather than assumption. Dr Hussain holds a PhD in Geoscience from Macquarie University, and brings the same rigour from his academic research, geochemical analysis, isotope geochemistry, and basin-scale interpretation, into every project he takes on, with a constant focus on what the data actually means for the people making the final call.

Mr Akhtar Ali Shah

Did his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geology from University of Peshawar and Master of Science (MS) degree in Geology from Comsats University of Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. Currently Mr. Akhtar Ali Shah serving as a Manager Mines & Minerals in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment & Trade (KP-BOIT). He possesses a well-rounded practical experience in both technical and Management roles in the Mining industry. He is a professional Mining Geologist with over 10+ years of extensive experience in Minerals Exploration, Minerals Resource Development, Mine Plan Execution Management and Data Processing Industry. He is enriched with Extensive Mining Project Management experience with focus on Safety, Environment and Production.

Mr . Muzamil Khan

Mr. Muzamil Khan holds a Master’s degree in Geology and has over six years of professional experience in mineral exploration across Pakistan. He specializes in geological mapping, field geology, mining in Pakistan, including Chitral, Gilgit and Balochistan, apart from this he has extensive expertise in mineral trading within the country. Currently, he serves as the Mineral Resource Manager at ACM Mines and Minerals and as Manager of Operations and Exploration at GeoXpert Services Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Abdullah Khan

Dr. Abdullah Khan holds a PhD in Geology from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) – ranked #1 in China for three consecutive years (2024–2026) and among the global top 10 in Geology (QS 2026). He also brings five years of professional experience as a Petroleum Geologist at the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP), under the Ministry of Petroleum, Pakistan. His expertise spans sedimentology, source rock geochemistry, early life & biostratigraphy, and hydrocarbon & minerals exploration, supported by advanced analytical techniques including SEM-EDS, XRD, NanoSIMS, ICP-MS, FIB, APT, and clay separation. Dr. Khan has conducted extensive geological fieldwork across Pakistan (Lower Indus Basin, Potwar Plateau, Sulaiman Fold-Thrust Belt) and China (Tarim Basin, Qaidam Basin, South China carbonate platforms), with additional experience in base metals and industrial minerals exploration. At GeoXpert Services, he integrates biostratigraphy, geochemistry, and high-resolution mineralogy to support hydrocarbon and mineral resource development in the region.

Mr. Mehmood Khan

Mr. Mehmood Ahmad Khan holds a M Phil Degree in Geology having specialization in Structural Geology, from Department of Geology, University of Peshawar, Pakistan, possesses extensive experience of over 14 years in Pakistan's Oil & Gas, Geotechnical and Mineral sectors. As an experienced consultant geologist, conducted various mineral exploration projects, providing expert geological services. Expertise comprises in geological research, analysis, and consulting services related to the Oil & Gas, Construction and Minerals industries. Currently, he serves as Manager Exploration (Geotechnical Services) at GeoXpert Services Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Bilal Wadood

Dr. Bilal Wadood is an internationally trained geoscientist holding a joint Ph.D. in Sedimentology and Petroleum Exploration from Northwest University (China) and the University of Vienna (Austria). He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Geology at the University of Swabi, Pakistan, and as Additional Director at ORIC, where he leads research strategy and academic development. With over eight years of experience, his expertise spans petroleum geology, clastic and carbonate sedimentology, basin analysis, and field-based investigations focused on hydrocarbon exploration and reservoir characterization using stratigraphy, facies analysis, petrography, and geochemistry. He recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at AGH University of Krakow, Poland, under the UNESCO/Poland Co-sponsored Fellowship in Engineering 2024. Dr. Wadood has established strong collaborations with universities and research institutions across the United States, China, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, and Italy. Known for his rigorous fieldwork and multidisciplinary approach, he actively mentors students, supervises research projects, and advances geological education in Pakistan while addressing real-world energy challenges through applied geoscience.
